Martin Blaney

Martin Blaney (UK/Germany)

After completing a PhD on the relationship between German cinema and television, Martin Blaney moved to Germany in 1988. Since then, he has worked for, among others, the Berlinale, Filmfest Muenchen, and various initiatives of the European Union’s MEDIA Programme. In 1990, he became the correspondent for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the British trade magazine Screen International and has also been a regular contributor to German Films Quarterly and KINO – German Film. In 2000, he left Screen International to become Head of Press & PR for the Berlin production company Road Movies, but returned to Screen in 2001. In addition to his journalistic activities, Martin Blaney has been a jury member at numerous international film festivals and served as a moderator for various panels throughout Europe.

Hugo Ramos

Hugo Ramos (Portugal)

Born in Vila do Conde, 1977. Works for Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival since 1994. Since 2001, he is production director and member of the selection commission for the International Competition and Music Videos and co-programmer of several film programmes and exhibitions for Curtas Vila do Conde. Apart from film festival activities, he is also a musician for the indie rock band Bildmeister, for his solo project Dee Broken and Dj.

Lucian Maier

Lucian Maier (Romania)

Lucian Maier is a regular contributor, as film critic, to Tribuna magazine (Cluj-Napoca) and LiterNet.ro, since 2006. He also writes about contemporary art in IDEA arts+society magazine and is a book editor at IDEA publishing house. He has taught seminaries about postmodern cinema at the Babeş-Bolyai University, he teaches philosophy at Iancu de Hunedoara College and is preparing his PhD thesis in philosophy, analyzing the evolution of cinematig language according to the Hegelian dialectic.

Massimiliano Nardulli

Massimiliano Nardulli (Italy)

Massimiliano Nardulli was born in Rome in 1976. After receiving a degree in Humanities and Arts, he specialized in cinema. Starting from University he has been a free-lance contributor for the organization of cultural activities in Italy, Spain and France and a film-critic. Since 2007, he works as a short film programmer and advisor for several festivals such as Festival Européen du Film Court de Brest (France), Arcipelago, Festival Internazionale di cinema e nuove immagini (Rome, Italy), Piemonte Movie (Torino, Italy), Lakino – Latin American Short Film Festival Berlin (Germany). He actually lives here, there and everywhere.

Shai Mizinski

Shai Midzinski (Israel)

Born in Be’er Sheva in Israel on March 18th, 1979. He attended a boarding school specializing in environmental studies in Sde Boker and then studied at the “Sam Spiegel” School for Cinema and Television in Jerusalem. His short film “Hayerida” (“The Descent”) won the Silver Bear Award at the 2010 Berlinale and also the Timishort Trophy in last year’s festival edition.
