Mircea Bobînă

Mircea Bobînă was born in Chisinau, Moldova, in 1989. He graduated from the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chisinau with a B.A. in Directing and Editing in 2012 and an M.A. in Directing Animation in 2014. Mircea has worked as a director and editor on several fiction shorts, documentaries, found footage movies, making-ofs and commercials, and participated in several international workshops, such as Berlinale Talent Campus and Sarajevo Talent Campus in 2013, and Aristoteles Documentary Workshop, in 2014. With his script “In the Sidecar”, he attended the “MiniMIDPOINT” scriptwriting workshop, at “UNATC”/ “National University of Theater and Film”, in Bucharest, the “Directors Across Borders” scriptwriting workshop, in Yerevan, and the “Young Professionals Project Market” at “goEast” Festival of Central and Eastern European Film/ “goEast Filmfestival des mittel- und osteuropäischen Films”, in Wiesbaden, all in 2012. The short fiction project was realized in March 2014, as a German, Moldovan, Romanian co-production, between Film University Babelsberg “Konrad Wolf”/ “Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf” (from which the cinematographer graduated with this project), “UNATC” Film Workshop/ “UNATC Atelier de Film” in Bucharest, and the Moldovan producer Ana Antir. In April 2015, Mircea attended the “EAST-WEST Talent Lab” at “goEast” Film Festival in Wiesbaden, Germany, with his new short film script, “Nelu”. He currently lives and works in Bucharest.
