Anca Miruna Lazarescu

Born in 1979 in Timisoara, Romania, Anca Miruna Lăzărescu emigrated with her family to Germany in 1990. She graduated from the German Academy for Film and Television in Munich and directed several short and documentary films, which attracted international interest. Member of the European Film Academy, Anca Miruna has volunteered in an Israeli Kibbutz, has completed traineeships at CNN and in Los Angeles, where she worked at Disney’s TV comedy series “Scrubs”. She has been interested in rendering the East-West conflict, and themes like the impact of immigration or the image of the outsider in a community are widely present in her work. Her filmography includes: “Silent River” (2011, had its premiere in the International Competition for Short Films at the Berlin Film Festival), “Romanian Spring” (2009, debut feature film), “One Day Today Will Be Once” (2007), “The Secret of Deva” (2007), “Salma Beneath Two Skies” (2005), “Bucharest – Berlin” (2004).
